The largest area of silk residue found in Sanxingdui

Archaeological excavations at the Sanxingdui site have brought a large number of precious cultural relics to the world again. A few days ago, there were new discoveries in Pit 8.

According to media reports, one of the unearthed bronze fragments has real silk residues, and the warp and weft structure is very obvious. There is a layer of adhesion similar to the coating on the surface. The size is 1.8×0.8 cm, which is the most obvious and largest area found in Sanxingdui. Silk residue.

According to experts, the main reason why the real silk remains so far is that the bronze ware provides a living condition for it, that is, the rust of the bronze ware has antibacterial effect, which increases the possibility of being retained.

Previously, nearly 60 gold leaves of various sizes and shapes were unearthed in Pit 8. Some experts speculate that these gold leaves may be decorations on the bronze sacred tree unearthed earlier.

Experts said that the Sanxingdui Ancient Ruins are the ancient city, ancient country, and ancient Shu cultural sites with the largest range, the longest duration, and the richest cultural connotations discovered in the southwest.

It is known as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of mankind in the 20th century, showing that the Yangtze River Basin, like the Yellow River Basin, belongs to the matrix of Chinese civilization and is known as the "source of the Yangtze River civilization."

In addition, the Sanxingdui Site will also join the Jinsha Site to declare for World Cultural Heritage and accelerate the construction of the Sanxingdui National Heritage Park.
